Advance registration is necessary for all classes.
All sessions listed held at the Rockford Sportsman’s Club;
Offsite classes (at other facilities) can be scheduled on request.

Personal Protection In the Home

This is the course recognized by the State of Michigan to fulfill the
training requirement to apply for a Concealed Pistol License.
(Formerly known as a CCW permit)
You must attend the entire class session to receive the required certificate.
If you do not have a handgun yet, rental guns are available with prior request.
Participants should have shooting experience. The NRA Basic Pistol course is recommended as a precursor for inexperienced shooters.

Other courses offered;

Defensive Pistol

The Defensive Pistol Course is an all day course of advanced concealed carry, self defense, and shooting tactics. This course is specifically designed for those who already possess a concealed carry permit, and have some shooting experience. This is not an NRA course.
Course fee $75

Basic Pistol

Whether you are interested in recreational shooting, competition, hunting, gun collecting, historical reenactment, home safety, or personal protection -- the basics are where to start! Basic Firearm Training Courses teach you universal safety principles and help you develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude that are needed to successfully pursue your shooting interests.
Course fee $125

Home Firearms Safety

Non-shooting course, teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.Students will learn how to identify different types of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The minimum suggested age is 12 years old. Parents must attend with minors, as hands on activities are part of this course.

NRA Range Safety Officer course
Cost is $100 including materials.

Registration fees with the NRA, for candidates that pass, are the responsibility of the student.

NRA Instructor course
