Personal Protection In the HomeThis is the course recognized by the State of Michigan to fulfill the
training requirement to apply for a Concealed Pistol License.
(Formerly known as a CCW permit)
You must attend ALL class sessions to receive the required certificate.
If you do not have a handgun yet, rental guns are available with prior request.
Participants should have shooting experience. The NRA Basic Pistol course is recommended as a precursor for inexperienced shooters.

Defensive PistolThe Defensive Pistol Course is an all day course of advanced concealed carry, self defense, and shooting tactics. This course is specifically designed for those who already possess a concealed carry permit, and have some shooting experience.

Basic Pistol
This
course is the recommended precursor to the Personal Protection in the
Home, which is the course recognized by the State of Michigan to fulfill
the training requirement to apply for a Concealed Pistol License.The
course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and
operating a pistol safely.
Course fee $100
Home Firearms Safety
Non-shooting course, teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.Students will learn how to identify different types of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The minimum suggested age is 12 years old. Parents must attend with minors, as hands on activities are part of this course.
Cost for the class is $50 for non-RSC members.

NRA Range Safety Officer course
Not scheduled at this time.
Cost is $100 including materials.
Registration
fees with the NRA, for candidates that pass, are the responsibility of
the student.

NRA Instructor course
Interested in becoming an NRA Instructor? Classes will certify instructors to teach Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, and Personal Protection in the Home. If interested contact Terry Stuart @ 887-9917 for course prerequisites.
